The Experience
The spirit of Queen Nefertari tells the story of her famous husband, Ramses II, as she tours the stunning monuments he built to himself and her – Abu Simbel and Queen Nefertari’s Tomb .
Created with intricate 3D scans of both locations, the VR immersive experience highlights the history of this towering Pharaoh and provides a look into Egyptian beliefs about the afterlife.

The Work
In directing the creative design and production of this experience, I looked at ways to tell the story of these historical figures through the sites they were connected with.
Ancient Egypt is ideal for this approach, with much of the story literally carved or painted onto the walls. We let Nefertari bring this story to life, animating the building around her with just a touch. We also worked to humanize these ancient monarchs by focusing on their relationship.
