Machu Picchu

and the Spirit of the Condor

The Experience

Machu Picchu and the Spirit of the Condor is an immersive cinematic experience showcasing a hyper-realistic full 3D scan of this wonder of the world.

Led by the founder of Machu Picchu, the Inca Emperor Pachacuti, visitors fly across the ancient citadel, visiting its most spectacular sites as they learn about the place’s history as well as the Inca culture and mythology that underlie its construction.

The Work

As Creative Director and Producer, I led the design and the development of the experience from initial research with local curators to on-site 3D scanning of Machu Picchu all the way through creative production and eventually install.

The challenge was to let the wonder of this magnificent place speak for itself while providing just enough context and story to let people understand its significance within the eight minute experience.

We worked with state-of-the-art VR motion chairs to give people the one experience they couldn’t get even in-person – flight. Our team of outsourced developers, 3D artists, sound designer, and composer crafted an experience worthy of the wonder.
