D-Day
The Experience
Follow a father and son from the docks of Dartmouth to the liberation of Sainte-Mère-Église as they fight to free France in this shared immersive experience.
The story balances the struggle for liberty with the reality of war as it wrestles with the meaning of heroism in historic times. Visitors witness the scale of the operation first-hand, watch General Eisenhower make the decision to go, and travel with soldiers across the sea and into enemy territory. Interwoven archival audio and video footage brings the true conflict behind the story to life.

The Work
Designing the narrative and writing the script required a deep understanding of the details of the day and the larger historical context. I had to craft a story that would be historically accurate, narratively compelling, and appropriate for range of ages and audiences.
The father-son relationship draws the audience in emotionally and focuses their attention in this immense story. It leans into the complexity of war, seeing the battle from multiple perspectives. Interactive moments give visitors a sense of involvement without actively engaging in conflict.
