Machu Picchu: Journey to the Lost City is a shared walkthrough VR experience that offers a trip back in time to the ancient city.
This family-friendly experience explores the sites of Machu Picchu as it was during the height of the Inca Empire. Visitors meet its people, learn about Inca culture, and even experience moments from Inca mythology.

The Work
In writing the script for this experience, I was asked to create an story specifically targeted at families with young kids.
We used a time travel tour as our framing to provide a way-in for unfamiliar audiences and a narrative that allowed for moments of humor. I worked closely with subject matter experts to distill complex Inca cultural concepts into accessible ideas. Inca beliefs around duality and hierarchy also provided inspiration for the structure of the story.
